Caspian Protector set for BP gig

13.04.2010 16:02

Renaissance Services is set to deploy its newbuild emergency recovery and response vessel, Caspian Protector to Azerbaijan in support of a $225 million contract with BP.

The 10-year contract was awarded to the company’s subsidiary, Topaz Energy & Marine in 2008.

Caspian Protector will join platform supply vessel, Caspian Server, which began its operations with BP in 2009. A third vessel, the newbuild anchor handling tug and supply boat Caspian Power, is due to arrive on location after its scheduled delivery later this year.

Renaissance has added 90 newbuilds to its fleet over the last five years, reducing the average age from 19 years to 7.6 years.
